People Watching Boats in Coal Harbour
This photograph shows people gathered at the end of Denman Street in Coal Harbour to watch boaters and rowers around 1900. Stanley Park is visible in the background. In those days, a wooden footbridge connected Coal Harbour to the park, which is also visible in the photograph. Later, a causeway constructed between 1916 and 1926 replaced the wooden bridge, creating Lost Lagoon by cutting it off from Coal Harbour."
I tried to locate this area using the wooden bridge and the view of the mountains in the background as references. The original photograph’s description states that it was taken at the foot of Denman Street. To capture a similar view, I had to walk about 50 meters along the seawall toward the park from the foot of Denman Street.
